Sailing once again!
Finally! I haven't sailed for about 5 years, but I'm back in the game!
I've sailed a variety of different boats over the years, but hadn't sailed since we moved back to Jacksonville, FL in 2003. I found the Rudder Club on the St. Johns River and joined up about a month ago.
It is a great facility located on the bank of some of the best sailing in Jacksonville. Not only will I get my sailing fix, but it will be a great place for the family to hang out on weekends. I can't wait to get my daughter sailing in one of the club Optimist class boats! She really had a kick chasing lizards around the swimming pool until one finally bit her.
I bought a Flying Scot class boat last week and had the maiden voyage Saturday. It was Kiley's first time ever in a sailboat and my wifes first time in a long time. I think Kiley liked it, but she did get bored after an hour or so (What can you expect from a 6-year old?). The boat is in really nice shape and should be a lot of fun. There are quite a few Scot's at the club and it should be fun racing. I hope to have some pictures up soon.
